C25K stands for Couch to 5K. It is an exercise program designed to transform a non-runner to a runner who is capable of completing a 5K race.
Based on the concept of learning to walk before you run, the couch to 5K schedule moves you from alternating between walking to jogging during the 30-40 minute workouts. The C25K sessions are to be completed three times a week with a rest day in between to allow your body to recover.
After nine weeks, the C25K graduate can join the thousand others who have stuck with the program and can successfully complete a 5k race.
